Quotes

"...Oliver Park, a new thought-provoking podcast by award-winning writer Nigel Warburton that reworks the Easter story in a modern-day context."

Peter Stanford, Lifestyle journalist at The Telegraph

Award-winning playwright Nick Warburton is behind this gritty and emotional drama which reflects the events of Holy Week, and its aftermath in a modern day setting. The fictional story is told in documentary format, using interviews improvised by the cast, which includes Joe Sims (Nige Carter in ITV’s hit series, Broadchurch) and Emerald O’Hanrahan (Emma Grundy in BBC Radio 4’s The Archers).
Setting the scene, Oliver Park, in the centre of West Trent, has become host to a camp for refugees, and a few splinter protest groups. A vigilante group, City Watch, has been established in response, and with a march planned by the camp supporters, tensions are high.
Into this situation comes Carl Franklin with a small group of followers, including Charlie Hammond played by Sims, with a radical but peaceful message. Events move quickly as an act of betrayal has terrible consequences.
