With unique access to this historically private community, ‘Inside The Bruderhof’ enters the village of Darvell, where for almost 50 years, an extraordinary radical Christian community has lived outside of mainstream society. But as one young resident begins to question her future, is the community’s utopian way of life worth the personal sacrifice required to live there?

In one picturesque village in Sussex, life is very different. There’s no crime, debt or homelessness. No one owns anything or earns anything and none of the children watch television, use social media or even have a mobile phone. With unique, exclusive access to one of the most fascinating religious sects of our time, this observational film follows several residents living as disciples of Jesus in their village of Darvel. Whilst at first their way of life seems outdated and possibly out-of-touch, their world also holds up a mirror to modern Britain’s biggest societal concerns.
