What you’ll do on the course:

Who can apply?

  • You must be aged 16–19 on the first day of the course (14th March 2026)
  • You must have a passion for film and post-production
  • You must be able to attend all online and residential sessions
  • You must be a UK resident
  • You must not be enrolled at university
  • New for 2026: If you’ve previously attended a different BFI Specialist course, you’re still eligible to apply!

No formal qualifications are needed.

Cost and Travel

This course is completely free to attend.
If you need help with travel costs to London, support is available – you’ll be able to apply for assistance as part of the application process.
