In 2012, Manga, a young Christian from northern Nigeria, was attacked and almost beheaded by a group of armed men from the militant Islamist group, Boko Haram.

The militants broke into Manga’s family home, ransacking the house. Manga and his younger brother were forced to watch their father’s murder before the killers turned their attention to them.

The militants demanded the family renounce their faith, which they refused to do.

In an emotional and at times shocking interview, Manga, who is now 33 years old, tells Mike Lanchin about his horrific ordeal and how it changed his outlook on life – and strengthened his faith.

“That experience changed how I see God, because I felt I shouldn’t be alive, I should have been dead,” Manga says.

He was in the UK last year in a visit organised by the Christian charity Open Doors UK.
