First broadcast on the BBC in October 1961, Songs of Praise is the longest running religious television programme in the world. It is on air every Sunday, 52 weeks of the year.

This weekly programme combines congregational singing with stories of faith from across the UK, that are inclusive, diverse and multi-denominational.

There are also 3 contest programmes, Young Chorister and Young Choir of the Year, which rotate annually; and Gospel Choir of the Year which happens yearly. All key Christian festivals are celebrated such as Easter, Advent and Remembrance and there are special celebratory shows around Christmas.
