Carrie and David Grant shot to fame in the 2000s as judges and vocal coaches on TV shows like Fame Academy and Pop Idol. Alongside their musical talents, they’ve also become successful broadcasters, leadership coaches and campaigners. They join Liz to discuss how their faith has played an integral role through the highs and lows of their journey together.

In conversation with Liz Adekunle, former Archdeacon of Hackney and chaplain to HM the King, Carrie and David look back on difficult moments; from being too poor to eat, to Carrie being seriously ill with Crohn’s disease. As parents, they had to learn to understand their children’s complex identities and be alongside some of them as they struggled with suicidal thoughts. Child-on-parents violence was another serious challenge.

Despite all this, their faith remains strong: Carrie and David are running a church from their own home. They share how they’ve stayed close to God and what they would say to those struggling to hold on to their faith.

FaithTime is an occasional series within CTVC’s in-house podcast strand, Things Unseen.
