Based in offices next to London’s Tower Bridge, CTVC is a major mainstream British television production company specialising in programmes that focus on social, religious, educational and ethical issues in the broadcast sense. It was founded by Lord Rank, a pioneer of the British film industry.
CTVC makes programmes for all the main broadcasters providing over 20 hours of programming in 2007 for ITV and Channel 4, as well as making radio programmes for BBC Radio 4 and The World Service.
Some of Britain’s leading presenters such as David Starkey, Rageh Omaar, John McCarthy, Cristina Odone and Tony Robinson have presented CTVC programmes in the last few years, and recent awards have included the top British award for religious broadcasting- The Sandford St. Martin Award- and an award in the “Best International Documentary” category at the New York International Film and Documentary festival - both for “Victim 0001”- the story of the chaplain to the New York firebrigade who died in 9/11.
CTVC can also claim to have one of the largest film and tape archives of any independent production company in Britain, covering hundreds of films and programmes we have made at home and abroad over the past 80 years.
CTVC have also launched Truetube. “Teen shout- Teen action" – True Tube is an interactive website that gives teenagers a space to get their views across on what matters, from teen crime to gangs to personal relationships, as well as offering a space to showcase videos teenagers have made that show how they are getting involved and helping change the world for the better.
